Thai Massage
Thai Massage is a system of massage and assisted stretching developed in Thailand and influenced by traditional medicine systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia. The practice is often linked to Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, physician to Buddha, and has evolved over centuries as a core part of Thai medicine.
In the Thai language it is commonly called nuat phaen thai. Although many people refer to it as Thai yoga massage, traditional terminology and practice are rooted in Thai therapeutic medicine.
Thai massage is generally more energizing and rigorous than classic oil massage. Instead of lotion or oil, therapists use hands, knees, legs, and feet to guide the body through assisted stretches and rhythmic pressure. Many clients describe it as "doing yoga without doing any work." The treatment may include muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure along energy lines.
This massage style can be both deeply relaxing and revitalizing, making it a strong choice for people who want flexibility, circulation, and total-body reset in a single session.
